BACKGROUND:

Africa has become one of Blockchain, Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin beside other) newest and green pastures.

Freedom and instants transactions have led to a huge boom in remittances being made via the digital currencies in Africa. While we understand the ignorance and bewilderment surrounding the Bitcoin technology, the possibilities of the technology are endless, any industry that deals with transactions can and will be disrupted by this technology. Rather than the Internet of Information, this is the Internet of Value or the Internet of Money

 

THE CONFERENCE

The conference component of BITCOIN TECHNOLOGY - TRUSTMACHINE will cover a wide array of topics spanning from the blockchain, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin enthusiasts in Uganda and beyond are going to have an opportunity to participate in the first ever Bitcoin Technology conference in the nation which will gather together stakeholders in government, industry, and academia from around the world to consider “Embracing cryptocurrency and blockchain technology in Uganda

KIPYA has developed a strong network of bitcoin industry speakers who will be presenting throughout the conference and panel discussions. Their focus will be on leveraging bitcoin technology and application towards Africa’s transformation.

Without a doubt, Bitcoin and Blockchain technologies and applications have become the hottest topics in financial technology, reaching levels undreamed of when the technology was created less than 10 years ago in 2008 and KIPYA Connect | Business Solutions together with bit2big (U) is here to unveil this in April.

FORMAT

Participants will comprise government representatives, bitcoin enthusiasts, private sector innovators and investors, along with leaders in research and academia.

The program will begin with a keynote address by distinguished authority on the conference theme, followed by speeches from the speakers and then plenary discussions. Seasoned moderators will guide discussions, and a selected set of speakers will present on different topics during plenary and break away sessions, and then engage wider audiences.

 

Plenary sessions will involve opening and closing statements, in between which thematic topics of the conference will be discussed

The opening key-note address will illuminate the vast subject of bitcoin technology and the vast opportunity that it presents and will set the tone for the day’s discussions.

Panel discussion with the audience will involve participants asking the panelists questions.
